This year marks the 10th Anniversary of BriForum. It is one of my favorite conferences. I have had the privilege to speak at some of the conferences and will do so again at BriForum Boston.
My favorite moment at BriForum isn’t presenting, but what happened afterwards that I enjoy telling about. In 2006, in Chicago, Brian Madden and I presented “The Excruciating Detail of the Citrix Logon Process” a comprehensive analysis of how XenApp logs on users. After the conference ended I was on an airport shuttle with a fellow BriForum attendee. I asked her if any part of the conference stood out and she talked about how much she enjoyed the logon process session. I remember saying thanks and realized that she didn’t notice that I was the co-presenter with Brian. When I introduced myself and told her I was also up on stage we had a conversation that went something like this:
“That was me up on stage with Brian.”
“No it wasn’t.”
“No, really that was Brian and I.”
“Brian presented by himself.”
When I got home I told all my coworkers that I could become – in certain situations – invisible. If I ever figure out how I’ll be sure to do a BriForum presentation on it.
