Application Virtualization Smackdown

Many of you are likely familiar with Ruben Spruijt of PQR in the Netherlands, from his appearances at BriForum, and his work in the Citrix, VMware and Microsoft virtualization communities.  In 2007, Ruben and several colleagues launched the first version of a comprehensive white paper analysis of the leading app-virt solutions called, “Application Virtualization Smackdown.”

The whitepaper quickly became an industry standard in benchmarking and evaluating app-virt solutions.  The Smackdown team are known as longtime experts who understand the technology, are very unbiased in their approach, and welcome new solutions and innovations that solve problems and meet customer needs.  It also created a forum for rich (and lively) discussions and debates at trade events like BriForum, with each vendor vying for pole position to pitch and demo our latest features to IT pros immersed in this technology.

Every year most vendors in app-virt would wait with anticipation for the latest version of Smackdown to be released to see what our competitors were doing and where we stacked up in the fray.  In the current FSLogix team we represent a history that has been involved in at least three other vendors solutions that have been covered in the Smackdown in the past.

Last week we were delighted to have been included in this year’s Application Virtualization Smackdown whitepaper under the first listing of FSLogix Apps.

The team believes our long experience in developing these solutions gives us a unique view as to where to take the technology next, and how to better address some significant gaps in customer implementations.

Thanks to the PQR team for being professional and easy to work with.  We’re happy to be a part of the Smackdown community building leading edge solutions that are literally transforming IT.
